Patient care is our top priority. We are pleased to offer additional methods to visit with your health care provider. Virtual medicine allows providers and patients to connect using a smartphone, tablet, computer or any device with a camera. Virtual medicine, also called telehealth, virtual office visits or telemedicine, are not an option for all types of visits and especially if you are experiencing an emergency. Many patients will be able to utilize telehealth for situations like:
- Cold/Flu symptoms
- ADHD follow-up
- Medication checks
- Medicare annual wellness visits
- Blood pressure follow-up
- Chronic conditions
Check with your provider to see what types of visits are eligible for a virtual visit.
Scheduling Virtual Medicine
Telehealth visits are currently available for phone office visits using your telephone, smartphone, tablet or computer. The best way to determine if your situation would qualify for a virtual visit is to call your provider. Your call will be screened for eligibility and scheduled if telehealth is an option.Instructions To Start Telehealth Visit
Medicare, Medicaid and some commercial insurance companies such as Avera, Dakotacare and BC/BS cover virtual visits. Payment varies plan by plan, so call your insurance company at the number on the back of your insurance card to review benefits. We will file your claim as a courtesy just as we do for in-person office visits.
