Dr. Martha Holstein Earns Board Certification

Martha Holstein, MD

Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C. is pleased to announce that Dr. Martha Holstein has earned board certification in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  Holstein joined Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C. on September 15, 2020.

Holstein earned certified status by passing the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) stringent certification examination, a test of the physician’s abilities in the field of adult medicine.  Board certification from ABIM is voluntary and is the highest standard in internal medicine and its subspecialties. Certification signifies that physicians have demonstrated to their peers and to the public that they have the clinical judgment, skills and attitudes essential for providing excellent patient care.

Dr. Holstein received her medical degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion, South Dakota and completed her residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  Holstein practices both pediatrics and internal medicine and has previously earned board certification in pediatrics.

To maintain certification, physicians can participate in activities that assess knowledge of the latest scientific developments and changes in practice and in specialty areas. ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
