Yankton Medical Clinic Makes Donation to Pathways Homeless Shelter

Yankton Medical Clinic physicians and Pathways Shelter for the Homeless accept a check for a donation.

Community support is a pillar of Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C. values and is proud to present Pathways Shelter for the Homeless with a check in the amount of $5,000.

Pathways Shelter for the Homeless provides short-term emergency shelter to families and individuals facing homelessness. Jesse Baily, executive director, was thrilled at receiving news of the donation.  He expressed that the funds would help meet the needs of many at the shelter.

In 2015 Pathways moved into their current facility located at 412 E. 4th Street in Yankton, they saw a large increase in families seeking assistance. The facility has space for 48 individuals and on average Pathways assists 30 families each month.

Pathways Shelter for the Homeless plans to renovate the basement and expand the space available to serve clients. They hope to break ground in January and the project is slated to take six weeks. “By renovating the basement, we will be able to double our space and serve 96 people at a time” explained Baily.

In addition to providing emergency shelter, Pathways works with clients to form a long-term plan to get back on their feet. To learn more about Pathways Shelter for the Homeless and the services they provide visit www.yanktonpathways.org/.
