Lizz Nedved, human resources assistant at Yankton Medical Clinic, P.C., has passed her Society for Human Resource Management certification (SHRM-CP) exam. The four hour, computer based exam, includes 160 questions and covers both knowledge and situational judgement items. The SHRM-CP exam is offered during limited dates each year.
Nedved said “our chapter formed a study group that met weekly for 10 weeks, and we helped each other prepare.” Nedved is past president of the Southeast South Dakota SHRM chapter and is helping to plan the annual spring conference scheduled for March 13 at Mount Marty College. The conference is open to everyone and this year’s speaker will be addressing sexual harassment.
Earning the SHRM-CP credential designates the recipient as a recognized expert and leader in the HR field, and a valuable asset to his/her organization, keeping the organization more competitive in today’s economy. This professional distinction sets certified individuals apart from colleagues, proving a high level of knowledge and skills related to human resources.
